Children's Books

I have always loved books and reading and there is nothing like a book to spark a child's imagination. It is so much fun to rediscover my childhood favorites with my own kids. I'm sure that you will see your own favorites in the lists of award winners - they seem to stand the test of time.

One of my all time favorites is the Caldecott Medal Winner (1942) "Make Way for Ducklings". My mom read it when she was little, I loved it growing up, and it is amazing to me that in 2006 when the kids and I are walking single file my 6 year old will call out "MAKE WAY FOR DUCKLINGS!" So remember that family connections and memories can be found and made as close as your local library or the centralcoastkids.com bookstore
