Summary: Good and engrossing game for Gameboy Color.
Comment: I knew that I wanted this game but couldn't decide between the GBC or GBA versions. After reading up on some reviews from gaming sites, I decided to go for the GBC because of the roleplaying aspect of the gameplay.

I agree that the graphics leave much to be desired but then it is Gameboy Color, so you shouldn't expect too much. The gameplay is what really sold me to the game. It pretty much follows the general plot of the book and is basically the same type of graphics and visuals as the GBC "Sorcerer's Stone" game. I enjoyed that one so I stuck with the GBC for "Chamber of Secrets" as well. It is fairly easy to maneuver and the locations such as the Weasley home, the train station and Hogwarts pretty much follow the locations in the movie or book. The characters match that in the book and Hermione or Ron (or both) often accompany Harry when completing tasks or battling enemies.

I enjoyed this game for what it was - a less sophisticated game visually than the Gameboy Advance but a fun game nonetheless. It's fun to wander around Harry Potter's world in these games and as a Potter fan I couldn't ask for anything else than to have the opportunity to immerse myself in Harry's world once in awhile.

Summary: THIS IS NOT HARRY POTTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Comment: THIS IS THE WORST GAME BOY GAME EVER!!!!!!

To start, this game has HORRIBLE GRAPHICS!!!!! Why is it that when you are in a "movie sequence", that you walk around like you have all the time in the world, and then when you control Harry, he move like he's about to miss the bus! Then, you see Moaning Myrtle, who looks like a chandelier! And what is with the music in hagrid's hut? It sound's like the theme song for "happy happy hagrid and his animal friends". Then, the music when you are anywhere else is a variation of the same Un-harry-potterish theme ever! Then it sound's like you'r getting abducted by aliens when you shoot a spell!

The storyline is HORRIBLE. It does not follow the story at all. Why is it that you take so much effort to get to aragogs lair, just to watch a little movie with Harry walking away, as calmly as possible to the car without a battle with Aragog? And why is Percy gaurding Fred & Georges shop? You'd think he'd just send a letter to Mrs. Weasly to tell her to punish them! Then, you have to "tickle" the painting of the fruit, to get to the "safer" passegeway to the shop, full of giant spiky bowling balls trying to kill you. Then, you have to go through "Prefect Palace" to get the potions book, to get you'r pollyjuice potion! How hard is it to find Lochart and ask him for one signiture? Also, the whomping whillow doesn't move ONE INCH. And what's all this stuff in Gringotts? I never remembered in the book that Harry had to battle fire breathing turtles, crossed treacherous bridges full of giant fireballs hitting him on the head, or carts full of jellybeans! In fact, I never read that Harry spent anymore time than five minutes in Gringotts! I also don't remember Harry having to dodge barrels falling from the sky, and find floo powder in the leaky cauldron!Or evil gnomes running around the grounds attacking people! But probably the most frustrating thing is climbing the stairs. And why do you only take to classes a year? I doubt the writers of this game even read the book or even saw the movie. I wonder how many people they hired to mess up the game?

What is with these locked doors? Why are some doors locked with giant yellow robot cogs and some by cut up devils snare? And then, of course, Dumbledores Office door is covered with glitter. Why not just make the doors LOCKED?

I think the makers of this game purposefully made it bad. Or mabey they were paying so much attention to adding another floor so they could have the "floor 6 bonus" to care?

Summary: ok
Comment: OK, this game is kinda good and I like it a bit.
The graphics are not so good and the bean challenges are sorta hard. The Basililsk is so dumb it like shoots little green thingies out of its mouth at you and you never get the sword. If I were to remake this game I would have you fight basililsk with sword, have you be able to fly the car, have more spells, make gringotts a little easier, and change the invisibility cloak(you find it in the hallway and it makes you invisible for a little while then goes back to where you found it-but is an advantage, its very hrd to sneak by Snape otherwise).

This is not worth your money, unless you are a Harry Potter total mainaic.

Summary: A bit disappointing and short
Comment: Reviewer:Adriel
This game is fair, but disappointing. This is probably a game for a plane ride.Too short. And why in the world you have to kill the snake using spells and not a sword,a major flaw.

Graphics:4/5 a bit impressing
Audio:3/5 when using spells, why do they sound like spacecrafts?
Gameplay:3/5
