Summary: Great animated story!
Comment: Caveat: I'm buying this product today, assuming that it matches the one I got from the library: The Paper Bag Princess, 69 minutes, 1992.
I love this musical, animated version of the Paper Bag Princess! I don't remember the book from childhood, so it doesn't bother me that the video doesn't match the book exactly. The episode is about 25 minutes long.
The rest of the DVD is the 'bonus episode' of A Gift Of Munsch, which you can also buy separately. It's basically a video of the author telling six stories to a live audience, which I wasn't thrilled with. I like the stories, but I prefer them as books or animation. This is why I'm giving it four stars instead of five.

Summary: Disappointing
Comment: I had the book when I was a little girl, and I really loved the story. I bought the DVD because the book wasn't available, and I wanted to show my husband a piece of my childhood.
I ended up turning off the TV within 5 minutes. The characters sang, it seemed, every 30 seconds, and each song lasted 15 seconds. The lyrics weren't that good either. It was very obvious that they were trying to stretch the book to 60 minutes- but they did it very poorly. I know that the book was short, but the DVD could have been much better done.
Your kids may like it, but if you are an adult trying to reclaim your childhood don't bother- just get the book.

Comment: Spanish track extremely difficult to hear. Music muffles dialogue to the point where the characters who are speaking often cannot be heard. How disappointing in such a wonderful Munsch story!
