Summary: Black Superman
Comment: This book was one of those finds I came across by accident but definitely worth it. It gave an in depth look at not just why African Americans excelled in sports but how this phenomenon came about, genetically, well to an extent. It covers a rich history of popular myths that are dispelled with hard science but for some reason are not well known. Well in this book they've been pointed out one by one.

I recommend this book to any one that not only enjoys hard science but to those who love to know the truth behind the story's and nothing but. This book is written spanning athletes over several decades. Allot of guys I never heard of before but should have. Good read breezed through this one in a few days.

Editorial Reviews:

More than ten years in the research and writing, Black Superman addresses one of the most controversial debates in recent American history: Why are African Americans and other people of African descent so disproportionately represented among the greatest athletes in the world? And what are the implifications if African American athletic superiority is based on genetic differences between them and other racial groups?

In a persuasive and engaging mix of sports, science, and history, Black Superman argues that the athletic superiority of people of West African descent, in athletic activities involving speed and power, is based on biologically-inconsequential, environmentally-determined biochemical and biomechanical differences between them and all other racial groups and on biochemical differences between them and all other African populations.

Black Superman does a masterful job of not only explaining the biological basis for African American athletic superiority, but also of exposing and debunking the lies and deceptions that were designed to perpetuate the twin myths of African backwardness and black intellectual inferiority.
