Customer Rating: Summary: Illustrated Encyclopedia of World Railway Locomotives Comment: A concise and lucid technical explanation of how electric, diesel and steam locomotives work. A 2nd edition of the original 1959 publication (which I also have). It is well illustrated with drawings and photographs, although there are no locomotive plans included.
The book has nothing to do with simulators but it is a good prototype resource to have if you're into computer based train simulators, such as Microsoft Train Simulator, and you want a technical book about world railway/railroad MPU types and how they work, then this book is a must have..
