Summary: One of Our Favorite Toys
Comment: The GeoTrax trains get an enormous amount of use in our house. We have several sets, a ton of the trains including several different remote controlled ones and it all packs into three clear storage boxes. My older son, 4 1/2, has created some amazing tracks with switchbacks and mountains and more. My younger son, 2 1/2, likes knocking trains off the tracks quite alot.

We've made tracks that run all across our living room including climbs up two full levels and sharp turning descents. I have almost as much fun playing with them as the boys do. The tracks are extremely durable and you can make a different train design everytime.

I cannot recommend the trains highly enough. They rock!

Summary: We love Geotrax!
Comment: We got this starter set for my son when he was 2 1/2. He loved it then, and now, at 5, still plays with it regularly (we have since bought additional pieces and track). So does my 2 year old daughter, and so does my husband, who loves putting together complicated configurations that use up all the track. My son has also gradually learned to create complex loops, and how to time trains so as to either create or avoid a crash. These are activities that promote logical and mathematical thought. This toy is very well made: after more than 2 years of regular use, it is still in excellent condition. I really think this is the best train set for little kids out there: more fun than a wooden railroad, because it comes with moving trains, and safer and more durable than a traditional model railroad with electrical track. The only caveat is that it is quite a bit larger than a wooden railroad set, so you won't be able to confine it to a table.

Summary: Geotrax Trains
Comment: It is a Christmas gift so he has not opened it yet, but he played with the exact set at my aunt's house. For a child who rarely sits still, this set kept his attention and we had to physically remove him from it when it was time to leave. He played with it nonstop for about 2 hours. I am hoping he loves his own just as much.

Summary: Bought for my son at 1-1/2, BUT...
Comment: ...he didn't start playing good with it until now, and he just turned 3. At 1-1/2, he just wanted to swipe the train and push the button on and off. He didn't want to build the tracks, play with the train controller, let the train go on the tracks, and he was oblivious to the tracks and would step all over them even if we built them. Now that he is three, he plays with it appropriately, and his little brother who is 1-1/2 does all the same things my 3YO did at that age. But they do fight over the train cars so I bought an extra train!!

The windmill is so cute; they both love watching the track pieces with "gadgets" on them! This is one of the few things my 3YO asks to play with EVERY DAY. I will buy them the crane attachment for the holidays.

Summary: Built to last!
Comment: We purchased this for our son when he was 18 months old. He is now almost 3 years old and still loves it (like any toy, you have to put it away for a while and then it feels new to him again). It is built tough for the banging and crashing of little engineers. It has provided hours of entertainment for our son. I did have some issues with the engine not running properly and one of the mechanical buildings not functioning. I called the manufacturers customer service line and they sent me replacement items - no questions asked. I couldn't have been more pleased with their responsiveness and how they stood behind their product. I am a loyal fan now!

Editorial Reviews:

Encourage your little engineer's learning with this extraordinary railroad empire. GeoTrax is for not-so-little-anymore hands, and it creates a wonderful scaled-down world for youngsters who love action and pretend play. Kids simply construct an intricate railway system and then control it either by hand or with a remote.

With the GeoTrax Workin' Town Railway, aspiring builders can start small and add components to expand their imaginary world. Additional toy parts sold separately. Set comes with 30 pieces total, including mountain ramps with a bridge, Diesel-style engine with two attached cars, cargo pieces, signs and 15 durable track pieces. Requires 6 "AA" batteries (not included). Measures 24" x 4.24" x 16 ".
