Summary: my little girl loves it
Comment: We set up the train on Christmas morning, she sat on it for 5 seconds and was scared at first of the noise the train motor makes, but after a few tries, she would play on it for hours at a time...She is 2 1/2, 26 pounds.. and almost too big for it. It goes slower the heavier your kid is. The track must be level as the motor isn't strong enough to go up the slightest incline...But all in all, my girl loves it, she puts her babies in the back and pulls them around, and it is durable, yet heavy. I am happy with the purchase, and even if it lasts one year, it is worth it.

Summary: BEWARE OF INSTRUCTION MANUAL!
Comment: The instruction manual says to "snap on" the smokestack, when indeed it has to be taken apart with a screwdriver and fitted on. Took a while to figure out (and believe) how wrong the instructions were.
The downside is there are no spare batteries to purchase....and it takes 18 hours to recharge the battery for 45 minutes of play. Also, there are no track extentions. Kids grow tired of waiting to play with the train "only every other day."

Comment: Bought this for my son's 1st birthday. He can't push the button to control the train by himself, but my 3 yr old daughter sitting behind him makes it double the fun anyway. Weight limit?--not an issue with 50+lbs on at once..still works fine. Is durable and fun. Small circle of tracks gets boring quick, but taking it "off road" brings back the excitement. This was the least expensive of the 3 I researched, and am more than satisfied with my purchase! My son will definitely grow into this and get its worth.

Comment: My grand daughters love this train. It was very reasonably priced as trains like this go. It talks, and makes real train sounds. The ability to buy additional tracks to make a figure eight made the purchase even more tempting. There is an on and off switch, and it is easily operated even by very young children by depressing the right foot pedal. A very memorable gift.

Little conductors can drive this train along the tracks, or use it off the tracks as a foot-to-floor ride-on. This Talking Train has forward and reverse gears, a 19' track, electronic sounds and an auto brake system. Fun noises add to the adventure, with phrases like "All aboard!" and "Stop!" and sounds like the "ting-ting-ting" of the railroad crossing sign, the rumbling engine, and a whistle blowing.
